Peer Review #1 'My Own Work'

'My Own Work' was a Harry Potter Fanfiction set the Marauders era. Now being a GIANT Harry Potter fan myself, this was quiet a treat for me and of course I have an obsessive knowledge of the ins and outs of this fandom. I really enjoyed the fact that the storyline was told in a way that anyone would have been able to read it and understand the meaning. It was not filled with too much facts or events so that someone who had never read or seen Harry Potter, (shudder the thought) would have still been able to understand. Setting it in the Marauders era, where little was known from the books and movies, appeases those who, like myself, have a deep knowledge of this fandom, as much of that time is unknown to us as well.

The story was told with the main protagonist being an original character and I became very curious on this unknown, to me, person. So personally I found myself very interested in this new character. The news that she had gotten that her parents had died was terrible and had my heart dropping into my stomach, however with the little time that we have known this character I could vaguely see how other readers might not have had the same reaction. I also thought it slightly strange for her friends to have not enquired about her whereabouts until a week after she had been absent.

Overall a great Fanfiction that had a beautiful storyline that touched on amazing themes of family and friendship. It was well written and had me emotionally invested in the main character even though she was an unknown person.
