I really enjoyed reading this essay, it took a very critical look at the mindset that those who create games such as Candy Crush while at the same time explaining the reasons and mentality around why people fall into the trap of spending money on games such as Candy Crush. From the explanation of colour coralations that subconciously speaks to parts of our psyche, to the slowly escalating addiction of using real money to try to overcome certain levels was very interesting. I find myself completely agreeing with this and understanding the addiction to these games as I do have a few games that I play and, stupidly, will pay for power-ups and stuff that would help be advance to a higher level even though I know that there is no real point or ending to these games.
Overall a very good essay that sheds light on a dark truth hidden in by these game developers. With an added caustionary tale to those who find themselves trapped in this type of addiction at the same time trying to advise trying to be wary or children who now have access to these games and will spend their own money on them.
